Spring into Action with Social Media and Mobile!
So it's nearly April and the clocks have just changed, allowing us all to enjoy a little more light in our lives! Springtime is historically an incredibly busy time for us, and this year is no different.
We're not long back from the New Start Scotland Exhibition where we met loads of new friends (and hopefully clients). We've recently launched our new mobile website platform. We've got a brand new Masterclass series on social media starting in a few weeks, and are putting the finishing touches to no less than five client websites - all due to launch in the coming weeks.
Oh - and we're up for some RAR awards in London later this week too!

Welcome to the "New Starts"!
We'd like to extend a warm welcome to everyone that we had the pleasure of meeting at this year's New Start Scotland Exhibition held in Edinburgh just over a week ago. We had a busy (but great) couple of days, and I hope everyone who attended found it valuable for your business plans!

Embrace the Space Masterclass Series
Following on from the success of "Embrace the Space – an Introduction to Social Networking for Business", we're excited to announce the launch of our Social Media Masterclass series starting in a few week's time.

Designed as a programme of three, independent (but complimentary) workshops, led by our own Social Media strategist Gary Ennis, the workshops also pull in the expert talents of TV presente Colin Kelly, and Employment Lawyer David Hoey, giving attendees the expert information and guidance to ensure the right Social Media route for their businesses.
The masterclasses are being run in Glasgow (at the Hillington Innovation Centre), and just outside Edinburgh (at ScotlandIS in Livingston). Places are limited, so please book early, and make sure you check out funding opportunities at Skills Development Scotland (who'll most likely pay 50% of the costs if you apply asap!)
It’s Not Too Late to be Early on Mobile
Here at NSDesign we're all a bit technology mad (some of us more than others!) Desktops, laptops, iPods, iPads, iPhones, Blackberries - we've got the lot between us, so we have our fair share of fun testing out websites on various devices to see what works and what doesn't.
A recent article on Google's Mobile Ads blog asserts that only 21% of Google's largest advertisers have mobile friendly sites. The remaining 79%, it seems, have a mobile user experience that's totally lacking.
Last month, we unveiled our newest package - an instant mobile website. It's is a cost-effective, fully self-managed platform enabling you to have your own mobile-friendly website. Not only that, it's so easy that it can be built by anyone in just a couple of hours!

More Awards
Later this week, I'm excited to be travelling to London for the 2011 RAR Awards Ceremony. The RARs (Recommended Agency Awards) are all about recognizing excellence from marketing companies. We are delighted to have been nominated for no less than SEVEN (!) awards this year - including Best in Client Service, Best in Creativity/Innovation, Best in Design and Best in Digital to name but a few!
We hope to at least match last year when we took home the UK's Best in Value for Money, but fingers crossed for a couple more this year!! I'll be bringing an extra suitcase, you know, just in case!
And I'll no doubt be sharing the odd tweet on the night...
