NSDesign's Autumn Update
With the leaves on the trees beginning to change, and clocks very soon turning back I guess it's safe to say that Summer has well and truly ended. Never mind that the Winter is upon us, dreich weather doesn't stop us from beavering away on all aspects of our work here at NSDesign HQ.
This month I've got an update on our latest Social Media workshop, some news regarding our web hosting provision, more awards, New Start Scotland, a new client website showcase, and a new novel idea of a new drop-in Web Clinic. Have fun reading!

Embrace the Space (in a Day)
Back by popular demand, our acclaimed "Embrace the Space" Social Media Masterclass is being run again - this time as a full, one-day workshop.
Led by Gary, our MD and Social Media guru (he'll give me into bother for calling him that!) the workshop also features the expert talents of TV and Radio presenter Colin Kelly, giving attendees the expert information and guidance to ensure the right Social Media route for their businesses.
Taking place in our offices at the Hillington Innovation Centre, on the 9th of December, it will be a full day from 9:30 AM - 5:00 PM. Don't worry, we'll throw in lunch and some refreshments too!

Business Hosting - We're Giving You More!
You may have seen the news that Verisign (the provider of all .com domain names to other domain registries) is increasing the cost of domain names by 7%. Are we passing this cost on to you? Of course we're not!
In fact, not only will our domain package prices remain the same (we've not increased them in over eight years by the way!) - we've actually decided to give our Business Hosting clients even more value for money!
In the next few weeks, we'll be announcing details of an increase of bandwidth, webspace, and various other goodies to all our Business Hosting clients! Watch this space for details!
New Start Scotland, Back in Glasgow
We're delighted to be, not only exhibiting at the upcoming New Start Scotland event in Glasgow, but also there as the official Social Media partners to the event!
Both Gary and Colin are hosting some workshops over the 2 days, and we'll all be there holding various business clinics, advising new (and existing) clients, and basically trying to help small businesses!
We're also excited to be giving away (at random) a great prize of VIP basketball tickets to a Glasgow Rocks game - for your entire workforce - a complete corporate entertainment package!

We're Shortlisted Again!
Excuse me while I blow the NSDesign trumpet for a moment, but I am just so delighted we've been nominated for two prestigious "digital awards".
First up is the heraldscotland.com Digital Business Awards, where we've been fortunate to be named as a finalist in the "Digital Supplier Award". This category recognises digital agencies who have done the most to advance digital innovation in Scotland, so no matter what the result - it's a great achievement for the whole team to have made the shortlist. We'll find out the result tomorrow!
Next is the "Social Buzz Awards" - a new initiative to celebrate and reward the best in Social Media communications in the UK. We are delighted to be named as a finalist in the "Best Social Media Stunt" category, for last years' tongue in cheek "alternative papal visit" fun and games.
The nationwide competition for these awards was fierce, with work submitted from Sony, Nokia, Save the Children, TomTom to name but a few, so again, we're just delighted to be in the mix. Winners announced at an event on 1st December down at Wembley Stadium - sadly I don't get to go this time as Gary's opted to go instead. Darn it. Oh well, fingers crossed he comes home with the award!
Drop-In Web Clinic
We're going to be introducing something rather unique in the very near future.
Basically, what we're offering is a chance for anyone out there to pop along at lunch time, hand over a a nominal fee, armed with your own lunch, and we'll dole-out some expertise on the likes of web design and SEO theory.
It won't just be our opinions, all of this will be done as a group. We'll go through your site, and come up with a list of actionables based on people using the website and their opinions on it right there and then.
So essentially you'll get some real-time user feedback, in addition to our critiquing on design, SEO, Social Media suggestions etc.
Details to be announced soon, but we're sure it'll be a hit.
Featured Site of the Month
As our regular readers know, each edition of our newsletter, we like to highlight one of our newly-launched client's websites.
This time round we are delighted to bring you Ancestral Consultants - launched quite literally just days ago!
Having first discovered NSDesign at one of our training seminars, Marie Dougan commissioned us to create a bespoke site for Ancestral Consultants, her Genealogy Research and Family History Consultancy business.
Marie has been a superb client, and it's a pleasure to help her online ambitions. As I ay, the site has just been launched, so there will be more added in the days and weeks to come, but we're delighted with it, and most importantly - so is Marie.
